Scholarship Eligibility & Application Process

In keeping with its goal of providing value for membership in the NSBA, members and their families are eligible to apply for one of three NSBA scholarships valued at $1,000 each. The scholarships are for the purpose of helping NSBA members and their families with the burden of college or technical school expenses. Our purpose in awarding these scholarships is to reward those students that have worked at after school and summer jobs, participated in school extra-curricular activities and maintain an average to above average academic achievement.

As stated, the NSBA scholarships are intended for those students that are active in extra-curricular school and still maintain an average to above average academic rating. The academic rating, in general, is the top one-third of their high school graduating class. Standardized test scores should range as follows: ACT Composite, from 18 to 26 SAT combined Verbal and Math scores should range from 850 to 1190.

High school seniors that are the dependents of dues-paying NSBA members are eligible to apply. The parents of scholarship winners must also be dues-paying NSBA members at the time the scholarships are awarded.

At least three $1,000 scholarships will be awarded each year. These scholarships are for one year. Each year a new set of winners will be selected. The scholarship will be applied to the educational expenses at any accredited college, university, vocational or technical school selected by the award winner.

In February of each year an announcement will be made on this website that applications will be accepted for the following school year. Applications will be accepted until April 15 following the announcement. CONTACT US to receive information regarding applications.

In order to assure impartiality in the evaluation of applicants and the selection of winners, an independent committee made up of educators , businessmen and business women will select winners
